Confirmation that the 2nd International Marching BandBaton Twirling Championship
(2011 Asian Championship for Marching Band & Baton Twirling) is to be held as per original schedule

As you know, a strong earthquake of magnitude 9.0 with an epicenter about 500 kilometers northeast from Tokyo, off Miyagi coast, caused severe damages in north-eastern region of Japan. Tsunami caused by the earthquake destroyed nuclear power plants located at about 300 kilometers north from Tokyo, which caused a serious problem of radioactive leakage.
Both Japanese government and the power company are confronting with this serious problem, about which you are informed through the media in your country.  However, due to the lack of correct information, it appears that some exaggerated news have been widely spread saying that all the Japanese territory are in big chaos and Japan has lost the control.  If you have such news, please correct it because our daily life in Tokyo and surrounding area is normally maintained without any big problems. Our Association has gathered relating information concerning the environment and we can say that presently there is no serious radioactive influence in Tokyo and in the area of Makuhari Messe, the venue of the Championship in Chiba City.  Also we know that other many events to be scheduled at Makuhari Messe will be held normally from the middle of April on as they were originally planned.
Under this circumstance, we have decided to host and organize our international championship as we planned during August this year and so we are promoting our preparation for the event using our full organizational capability.  We will further gather information concerning the power plant and the environment and will inform you as quick as possible.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact with us. We appreciate very much for your kind cooperation and support with us.
Yours Sincerely

April 7, 2011
